Ex Manager Confirms Old Video of 2Baba’s Alleged Arrest in London After Altercation with Pregnant Wife
A former manager to Nigerian music superstar Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has confirmed the authenticity of an old video circulating online that allegedly shows the singer being arrested in London following a heated exchange with his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru.
Kaka Igbokwe, who once managed the award winning artiste, addressed the resurfaced clip during a recent conversation with entertainment journalists. According to Igbokwe, the video in question is not new, as many social media users had assumed, but was recorded several years ago during a private trip abroad.
He explained that the incident captured in the footage stemmed from a tense disagreement between 2Baba and Natasha, who was reportedly pregnant at the time. The dispute escalated in public, drawing the attention of bystanders who later contacted law enforcement. Reported by individuals familiar with the matter, police officers arrived shortly after and temporarily detained the singer for questioning, as is standard procedure in domestic disturbance cases in the United Kingdom.
Igbokwe clarified that the situation was promptly resolved. According to him, 2Baba was released the same day after officers determined that the misunderstanding posed no further threat. He noted that both parties later reconciled, describing the episode as “an unfortunate but private matter that should never have resurfaced in the sensational manner it has now.”
The former manager expressed concern over the renewed circulation of the clip, which has triggered debate and speculation on social media platforms. According to entertainment analysts, old celebrity content often resurfaces during periods of public attention or controversy, sometimes misleading audiences who assume the events are recent.
Igbokwe urged the public to avoid drawing negative conclusions from an incident that occurred long ago and had already been settled by those involved. He also appealed to bloggers and online commentators to verify timelines before sharing sensitive content, noting that misinformation can cause reputational damage.
Eyewitness reports included in past accounts indicate that the disagreement never escalated into violence, and both parties cooperated with authorities. As of the time of reporting, neither 2Baba nor Natasha has issued a new statement regarding the viral clip.
