The Battle Of The Kings
Male Lions are highly territorials. When they are not hunting, they spend time sleeping under shades, and mating with the lioness in the pride. The Lions can also spend time marking their territories with urine to send early warning to other Lions that might want to intrude into their territories, a situation that always led a fierce battle with the intruders.
The photos captured moment where two lions were found fighting for dominance at Kruger national park.
Believe it or not, the two lions on the photos are brothers., Unlike most fight that always occurr between Intruding Lions that are trying to take over the pride of another lion.
Male lions are very loyal to their coalition partners, but despite that, the fights for food/females can get very nasty. This fight between the kings of Ol Kinyei happened a few months ago, when a Lion ,Lembalang, tried to mate with two lionesses. His big brother, Ole Cook, stepped in and taught him a lesson. At the end of the fight, each brother got one lioness.
In one of the photos, you will find one of the lionesses the brothers were fighting for. The lioness gave birth a couple of weeks ago.
