Massive Fire Erupts In Rivers As Tanker Explodes, Resulting In Vehicle Destruction

 
At least 10 vehicles were engulfed in flames due to a tanker blast at the Eleme area of the East-West Road in Rivers State on Friday evening.

According to PUNCH a minimum of four people are suspected to have lost their lives in the tragic event. 
The explosion originated from a tanker carrying petroleum products, causing damage to nearby vehicles in the congested vicinity. 

The incident which occured at approximately 9:15 pm, took place near the Indorama Petrochemical Company situated along the Akpojo-Onne stretch of the East-West Road.

After the incident, it was gathered that numerous travelers and commuters were left stranded due to the road closure leading to Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and other destinations. 

Upon reaching out for information, Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the state police command, acknowledged that she had not received a situation report regarding the incident but assured that she would investigate and provide an update.
