Owner Of Chinese Supermarket In Abuja Appears Before FCCPC

Liu Bei, the owner of the Chinese supermarket in Abuja, which was sealed for refusing Nigerians entry, has now appeared before a tribunal at the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

According to PUNCH, this development comes after the FCCPC issued a summons notice and threatened sanctions against the store.

In an update, the FCCPC stated that the owners of the supermarket responded to the summons and underwent questioning regarding the allegations of discriminatory practices.

The FCCPC also conducted an inspection of the facility. As the investigation progresses, the FCCPC will continue to provide updates on the matter.

It was reported  the supermarket had implemented a policy that only allowed Chinese nationals to enter, excluding Nigerians from patronizing the establishment.
Upon the revelation, the Authorities promptly took action and swiftly closed off the supermarket to conduct the required investigation.
