Miss USA steps down, attributing her departure to mental health concerns

Miss USA 2023, Noelia Voigt, has made the decision to resign from her position, citing her mental health as the primary reason.

In an Instagram post, she expressed her belief that this is just the beginning of a new chapter for her and hopes to continue inspiring others to prioritize their mental well-being and advocate for themselves and others.

Voigt, who hails from Utah, succeeded Morgan Romano of North Carolina as Miss USA 2022 and became the first Venezuelan-American woman to win the title.

The Miss USA Organization fully supports her decision and acknowledges the importance of prioritizing the well-being of their titleholders.

According to CCN, they
are currently reviewing plans for the transition of responsibilities to a successor and will announce the new Miss USA in due course.

Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii, the first-runner-up, may be a potential candidate for the crown.

Voigt's statement also highlighted her pride in her work with Smile Train, her advocacy for various causes, including anti-bullying, dating violence prevention, and immigration rights and reform.
