This unfortunate incident resulted in numerous injuries, with the victims being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
According to Sahara Reporters, the trouble began when the women of Oteri-Ughelli community voiced their grievances to the Ughelli area command regarding alleged police extortion and continuous harassment from the Nigerian police.
Despite their peaceful demonstration, the women were met with resistance, aggression, tear gas, and gunfire from the officers stationed at the area command.
