Pakistan Bombing - Journalist Killed On World Press Freedom Day
A regional journalist in southwestern Pakistan was killed in a bomb blast that targeted him on World Press Freedom Day.
The attack, which took place in the Khuzdar district of Baluchistan province, also claimed the lives of two passersby.
Seven others were injured in the afternoon explosion, with local police identifying the slain journalist as Siddique Mengal, the district press club president.
According to VOA, Ghulam Mustafa Rind, an area police officer, stated that Mengal was targeted by an unidentified motorcyclist who attached a homemade magnetic bomb to his vehicle as he was passing through a busy crossing.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office expressed condolences over Mengal's death, stating that he was deeply saddened by the loss.
