NNPC Refutes Allegations of Selling Adulterated Petroleum Products at Retail Outlets

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has categorically denied recent claims alleging that it sells adulterated petroleum products at its retail outlets.
These allegations, which surfaced through various media platforms and public discussions, have raised concerns among Nigerians regarding the quality and safety of fuel supplied by the state-owned oil corporation.

In a statement released on Thursday, NNPC emphasized its commitment to providing high-quality fuel to consumers across Nigeria. The company assured the public that its stringent quality control measures are in place to prevent any contaminated or substandard fuel from reaching the market. "We take pride in adhering to the highest industry standards to ensure our products meet both national and international quality requirements," the statement read.

NNPC explained that it conducts multiple quality checks on all products before they are distributed to retail outlets. These include comprehensive laboratory testing, which verifies that the fuel meets the specifications laid out by regulatory bodies such as the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR). According to NNPC, these rigorous checks are essential for maintaining product integrity and consumer confidence.

The corporation also warned that misleading claims about the quality of its fuel could damage its reputation and lead to unnecessary panic among Nigerians. It called on the public to disregard these unfounded accusations, emphasizing that it would continue to work with industry regulators and other stakeholders to uphold the quality of its petroleum products.

The NNPC further urged Nigerians to report any suspected cases of product adulteration directly to its customer service channels. The organization stated that it remains committed to transparency and consumer protection, reassuring Nigerians of its dedication to providing reliable and safe fuel supplies.

As Nigeria's leading petroleum supplier, NNPC’s response highlights its proactive stance on addressing concerns and maintaining trust with consumers.
