Israeli Forces Raid Gaza Hospital Amid Ongoing Conflict

Israeli forces conducted a significant raid on the Kamal Adwan hospital in the northern Gaza Strip on Friday, causing extensive damage and forcing the evacuation of patients and civilians, according to local officials.
The hospital, located in Beit Lahiya, is one of three major medical facilities serving the area.

Gaza's Health Ministry reported losing contact with its staff inside the hospital during the operation. Munir al-Bursh, the Ministry's Director, stated in a press release, "The occupation forces are inside the hospital now, and they are burning it." The ministry expressed grave concern over the safety of patients, medical personnel, and others sheltering within the facility.

The Israeli military confirmed the raid, stating it was part of an operation targeting Hamas militants allegedly using the hospital as a strategic base. In an official statement, the military claimed the hospital had become “a key stronghold for terrorist organizations and continues to be used as a hideout for terrorist operatives.”

The incident underscores the escalating violence and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, with medical infrastructure increasingly caught in the crossfire. The Health Ministry has condemned the attack, citing the essential role hospitals play in providing care amidst ongoing hostilities.

This operation follows weeks of intense fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas militants, leaving civilians in Gaza facing dire conditions. International organizations have repeatedly called for the protection of medical facilities and adherence to international humanitarian laws, which prohibit attacks on healthcare infrastructure.
