Ukraine Downs 20 Drones in Overnight Russian Assault Across Multiple Regions

Ukraine’s military announced on Thursday that it successfully intercepted and shot down 20 out of 31 drones launched by Russian forces during a series of overnight attacks.
The strikes, which targeted several regions across the country, represent the latest in a string of assaults amid ongoing hostilities between the two nations.

In a statement, Ukraine's Air Force confirmed that the drone attacks focused on the Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Kyiv regions. The air defense systems in these areas were able to neutralize the majority of the drones, significantly reducing potential damage. The military emphasized that its operational response highlights the growing effectiveness of its anti-drone capabilities in countering persistent threats.

While the exact targets and consequences of the drones that breached defenses remain unclear, Ukrainian officials have described the assaults as a continued effort by Russian forces to destabilize critical infrastructure and civilian areas. Authorities in the affected regions are assessing any potential casualties or material damage caused by the drones that evaded interception.
