Paul Pogba’s Brother Found Guilty of Extortion Attempt


The brother of French soccer star Paul Pogba has been convicted of attempting to extort the former Manchester United midfielder in a case that has drawn significant public attention.
The verdict was delivered by a French court, which found the defendant guilty of orchestrating a scheme to pressure Pogba into paying a substantial sum of money under duress.

The case centers on an alleged incident in which Paul Pogba claimed he was held against his will by a group of armed men. According to the 30-year-old World Cup winner, he was ambushed while visiting his family in France. The group reportedly demanded a sum of €13 million ($14 million), which they claimed was payment for "protection services" that had supposedly been provided to Pogba over the years.

Pogba identified his brother, Mathias Pogba, as being among those involved in the extortion plot. Mathias, who also has a background in professional soccer, was accused of working with accomplices to intimidate the midfielder into compliance. Evidence presented in court included recorded conversations and social media posts in which Mathias made veiled threats against his younger brother, adding a layer of public scrutiny to the case.

During the trial, the prosecution argued that the actions of Mathias and the other defendants constituted a deliberate and premeditated attempt to exploit Paul Pogba’s wealth and public status. The defense, however, maintained that Mathias had no intention of harming his brother and claimed the situation had been mischaracterized.
