Israel Captures Hama"s Terrorist Special Tunnel

The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has captured Hama"s Terrorist special tunnel in the northern part of Gaza.
Since lounching the ground defence in the Gaza strip in early November, the IDF has destroyed  almost one third of the underground tunnels in the territory. And more are still been targeted, as it is believe there are still numbers of unknown tunnels in Gaza.

The IDF on Tuesday, November 4, revealed details about a special Hamas tunnel captured by Israel.  They believe that this particular tunnel was the underground headquarters of Hamas.  It extended from the above ground Hamas military high command area in Gaza City to the underground area. Gaza Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar and Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif are also believed to be hiding in the tunnel.  Israel captured the tunnel several days ago, the IDF said.  The Jerusalem Post.

The IDP also made is known, this particular tunnel of Hamas extended to a depth of 30 meters underground.  It also included oxygen, air conditioning and more advanced communications than other underground mini command centers.  There was also an elevator system in the tunnel.  Capacity was up to about seven people at most.  It was also equipped with a special missile system.

Soldiers from the Israeli military's high-powered 401 and Givati ​​units were deployed during the occupation of the Hamas military high command area and its associated tunnel network.

 By attacking the tunnel, the IDF first destroyed all of Hamas' long-range Cornet anti-tank missiles.  They then entered the Hamas command center through al-Atatra in the northern Gaza city of Beit Lahiya.  One by one, they captured Hamas's military headquarters, a vast underground network, as well as a naval command center, the Badr Command Center.

Israel also said significant weapons and intelligence were hidden about 20 meters below the Hamas naval command center. As the war continues, the IDF has continued to make more discoveries as the military advances deeper into the terrorist stronghold.
