Former media aide to the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, Daniel Bwala, criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for issuing a warrant for the arrest of the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.
Bwala mentioned that the EFCC had the necessary tools and information to apprehend Bello.
He expressed his views on his social media account on Friday in response to the failed attempt by the anti-graft agency to arrest Bello at his Abuja residence.
Bello was taken away by his successor, Ahmed Ododo, after a confrontation between his security team and EFCC operatives.
The agency declared Bello wanted for alleged economic and financial crimes amounting to N80.2 billion. Bwala emphasized that the dramatic "wanted" statement by the EFCC was unnecessary, as they had the means to locate Bello without public involvement.
