A suspect has been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command after intercepting bags of substances believed to be Indian Hemp at a jetty in the Ojo area of Lagos.
According to PUNCH, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this development to the News Agency of Nigeria.
The substances were discovered by detectives from the tactical squad, Ijaniki, during their morning patrol around the Ajangbadi area.
The tactical team followed a white Mercedes Benz mini truck to Ilufe Waterside Jetty, Alaba International, Ojo, where they found a significant quantity of suspected Indian Hemp being unloaded from a flying boat.
The arrested suspect, who is the alleged driver of the truck,
claimed that he was contacted by a man named Ifeanyi to transport the substances from Waterside Jetty to Alaba International Market in Lagos.
Currently, investigations are underway to locate and apprehend Ifeanyi.
