Officials from the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources took action on Thursday by confiscating styrofoam food packs from various markets in different local government areas of the state.
According to the PUNCH, Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, shared photos and a video on his X handle on Friday to provide evidence of the operation.
In his caption, Wahab highlighted the efforts of the enforcement agencies under the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources in intensifying the removal of banned styrofoam food packs from markets across the state.
He also mentioned that the environmental enforcement team conducted raids in several areas including Ikorodu Local Government, Mosan Okunola Local Government, Badagry Local Government, Amuwo Odofin, Ojo Local Government, Somolu, Eti-Ota East LCDA, Eti-Osa Local Government, and other parts of the state.
Furthermore, Wahab emphasized that all the confiscated items will be incinerated.
