Biden Urges Swift Approval Of Ukraine And Israel Aid By Congress.

President Joe Biden expressed his firm endorsement for increased military aid to Ukraine and Israel, as well as humanitarian assistance for Palestinians in Gaza.

This came after House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that the House of Representatives will hold a vote on the funding packages on Saturday night.

According to VOC, For weeks, Johnson had been indecisive about calling for a vote on foreign aid, as some conservative lawmakers within his Republican caucus opposed providing further assistance to Ukraine in its ongoing conflict against Russia's invasion.

These lawmakers even threatened to remove Johnson from his position as speaker if he proceeded with the vote.

In response, President Biden, a member of the Democratic party, released a statement emphasizing the critical situation faced by both Israel and Ukraine.

He stated, "Israel is currently under unprecedented attacks from Iran, while Ukraine continues to endure intensified bombardment from Russia, particularly in the past month," as reported by VOA.
