Foreign Ministers From The G7 Countries Convene In Italy Amidst Growing Demands For Sanctions On Iran

The Italian island of Capri is currently hosting a three-day meeting of foreign ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) major democracies. 

However, these talks are being overshadowed by the anticipation of potential Israeli retaliation against Iran for recent missile and drone attacks. 

According to VOA, the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, as well as the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, will be the primary focus of discussions among the ministers representing the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, and Japan.

 Italy, as the current holder of the G7's rotating presidency, is actively advocating for a cease-fire in Gaza and a de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East.

Despite calls from Western nations for restraint, it appears highly likely that Israel will respond to Iran's attacks over the weekend.
