Performers participating in the flame lighting ceremony for the Paris Olympics are currently undergoing rehearsals at the Ancient Olympia site in Greece.
The ancient Greek music and dance styles remain a mystery, but every two years, a new interpretation of the ancient performance captivates a global audience.
This significant event takes place in southern Greece, a location that is still considered sacred as it is the birthplace of the Olympic Games.
According to VOA, a group of forty-eight performers, carefully selected for their resemblance to youths depicted in ancient artwork, will be partaking in the flame-lighting ceremony for the Paris Olympics.
The details of the thirty-minute performance are meticulously fine-tuned and kept confidential until a public rehearsal on Monday.
The Associated Press was granted exclusive access to the rehearsals, which primarily took place at an Olympic indoor cycling track in Athens during weekends.
The highly anticipated Olympic Games Paris 2024 will be held in France from 26 July to 11 August.
