It is believed that a group of Japanese Navy helicopters, carrying a total of 8 crew members, has crashed in the Pacific Ocean.
According to VOA, Japan's defense minister reported that two Japanese navy helicopters, each carrying four crewmembers, are believed to have crashed in the Pacific Ocean south of Tokyo during a night-time training exercise.
The helicopters, identified as SH-60K choppers belonging to the Maritime Self Defense Force, lost contact near Torishima island. One crewmember has been recovered, but their condition remains unknown.
The search is still ongoing for the other seven crewmembers.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown, and efforts are focused on prioritizing the rescue operation.
