Woman Arrested For Faking Her Own Abduction

Edo State police have apprehended Blessing Ogunu, a young woman accused of fabricating her own abduction and demanding a ransom of N4.8 million.

Ogunu, who works for Bliss Legacy Limited, a real estate company in Benin City, was arrested alongside two others, Esther Anthony and Ukpebor Joel.

Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesperson for the police command, revealed that Ogunu orchestrated her own abduction and demanded the ransom.

The Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit received a complaint from Samuel Prince Omomuzo, who reported that Ogunu, a staff member of Bliss Legacy Limited, had been kidnapped and the kidnappers were demanding the ransom.

During questioning, Ogunu admitted to planning her own abduction as a result of her company's refusal to allocate land to a customer who had already paid.
