EFCC Set to Prosecute Cubana Chief Priest for Misuse of Naira

Following the recent sentencing of Bobrisky to six months in prison for the misuse of the Nigerian currency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has now turned its attention to socialite Cubana Chief Priest, who is also facing charges for the same offense.

According to Channel Television, the EFCC has officially filed a three-count charge against the businessman, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu. It is alleged that he engaged in the act of spraying and tampering with the naira at a social gathering, which is in violation of the provisions stated in the Central Bank Act of 2007.

Cubana Chief Priest is scheduled to appear before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, April 17. Channels Television has obtained a copy of the charge, which was filed on April 4th by Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), the prosecutor representing the EFCC, along with seven other lawyers who are representing the Commission's chairman.
