According to Indonesian officials, the search and rescue team has tragically discovered the bodies of 18 individuals who lost their lives in the landslides on Sulawesi Island.

The rescuers have found 14 bodies in Makale village and an additional four in South Makale. Despite facing challenging weather conditions, including fog and drizzle, the search for two missing individuals is still ongoing.

According to VOA, the officials have expressed that the officers in the field are facing overwhelming circumstances due to the difficulties posed by the inclement weather.

By Sunday afternoon, the rescuers had successfully recovered 11 bodies in Makale village and three in South Makale.

They are continuing their efforts to locate three others who are reported to be missing, including a 3-year-old girl. However, the rescue operations are being hindered by downed communications lines, adverse weather conditions, and unstable soil.
