Israel Has Allegedly Launched Missiles Targeting Iran

Israeli missiles are said to have targeted a location in Iran, following Iran's drone attack on Israel in response to an assault on the Iranian consulate in Syria.

An explosion was reportedly heard near the Shekari army airbase in Isfahan, Iran, according to Iran's Fars news agency. 

US officials have stated that Israel carried out these retaliatory strikes. It has been reported that multiple flights have been redirected away from Iranian airspace. 

Isfahan province houses several Iranian nuclear sites, including Natanz, which is crucial to Iran's uranium enrichment program.

There are conflicting reports regarding the cause of the explosions. Hossein Dalirian, spokesperson for Iran's space agency, has stated that "several" drones were successfully shot down.
