Nigerian Military Arrests Ammunition Courier Linked to Wanted Terrorist Bello Turji
In a significant operation against terrorism in Zamfara State, the Nigerian military has apprehended a 25-year-old woman, Shamsiyya Ahadu, for allegedly acting as an ammunition courier for notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji. The arrest was made on December 28 by troops from Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, operating under Operation Hadarin Daji. According to an official statement released on Sunday, Ms. Ahadu was detained in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area. She was intercepted alongside her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, a motorcyclist who was reportedly assisting in the transportation of the contraband. The military recovered 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines in the suspects' possession.
