Multiple lives lost As Tornado Tore Through Small Town Of Greenfield

In the aftermath of a destructive tornado that ravaged Greenfield, Iowa, on May 21, 2024, workers are diligently sifting through the wreckage of homes and cars that were obliterated by the powerful storm.
Tragically, multiple lives were lost as the tornado tore through the small town, leaving behind a trail of devastation. The relentless winds also wreaked havoc on wind turbines, twisting and toppling them in their path.

Following its devastating impact on Greenfield, a town with a population of 2,000, the tornado continued its destructive journey eastward, unleashing its fury on parts of Illinois and Wisconsin. As a result, tens of thousands of customers in these states were left without power.

Among the buildings that suffered damage in Greenfield was the town's hospital. Consequently, a dozen individuals who were injured had to be transported to other medical facilities, as reported by Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Alex Dinkla. Ademola Lookman Becomes Firstt Player To Score A Hat-trick In The UEFA Europa League Final

In a stunning turn of events, Ademola Lookman, the Nigerian forward, made history by scoring a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final, becoming the first player to achieve this feat.

Atalanta, the underdogs, shocked Bayer Leverkusen with a resounding 3-0 victory, abruptly ending the Bundesliga champions' impressive 51-match unbeaten streak across all competitions.

This triumph marks Atalanta's first-ever UEFA Europa League title, a significant milestone for the club since their last major title win in 1963. The final took place at the Dublin Arena on Wednesday, where the newly-crowned German champions suffered their first defeat of the season.
Atalanta took the lead in the 12th minute with a beautifully executed goal by Lookman. The forward found himself unmarked in the box and swiftly struck the ball past Matěj Kovář, capitalizing on the excellent teamwork between Teun Koopmeiners and Davide Zappacosta.

Lookman continued to impress, adding to Atalanta's lead with a sublime finish that even caught the attention of Leverkusen players. He skillfully maneuvered past Granit Xhaka, nutmegging the former Arsenal star, before unleashing a stunning long-range shot from the edge of the box. This goal completed Lookman's brace within just 26 minutes of the game.

Leverkusen had a glimmer of hope when Florian Wirtz found Álex Grimaldo, but the Spaniard failed to convert the opportunity, shooting straight at Juan Musso, who was positioned far outside his goal.

In the first half, Alonso's team struggled to find their rhythm, while Gian Piero Gasperini's well-executed game plan came to fruition in Dublin.

After the break, Leverkusen displayed greater intensity, and Jeremie Frimpong came close to scoring with a powerful left-footed volley that sailed over the bar from Amine Adli's cross.

Desperate for a comeback, which had been a defining characteristic of their season, the Germans found themselves lacking their usual sharpness against La Dea, who had thoroughly studied their opponents.

In the 75th minute, the Nigerian player etched his name in history by scoring his third goal of the game, becoming the first player ever to achieve a hat-trick in the final of this competition.

The closest anyone had come to this feat was Jupp Heynckes, who scored a hat-trick for Mönchengladbach in their first-leg victory against Twente in the 1975 UEFA Cup final. It's worth noting that back then, the final was played over two legs, unlike the current single-leg format implemented by UEFA.

Prior to his historic third goal, Lookman had already made his mark by scoring two goals in the first half, making him the first African player to achieve a brace in the final of a major European competition.

With this hat-trick, the 26-year-old Nigerian's goal tally in the Europa League reaches five, while his overall contributions for the season stand at an impressive 15 goals and eight assists across all competitions.

Overall, Atalanta's remarkable performance and Lookman's exceptional hat-trick secured a memorable victory in the UEFA Europa League final, leaving Leverkusen stunned and ending their unbeaten run in a dramatic fashion.

Young wildlife Photographer's photo Of A 'kissing blackbird' Gets Purchased By Co-op

A young wildlife photographer, Ben Pulletz, has achieved a remarkable feat as his photograph of two blackbirds "kissing" has been chosen to be turned into a card and sold in Co-op supermarkets.

The 21-year-old photographer, who resides in Somerset, captured a series of stunning images showcasing animals and nature in his local surroundings. These included a rabbit in a meadow, a grasshopper, a great tit perched among rose hips, and a picturesque field of daisies.

For years, Pulletz has been tirelessly pursuing the perfect wildlife photographs, never imagining that a national chain would take an interest in his work. He expressed his delight, particularly regarding the use of his daisy photograph, which happens to be his mother's favorite.

The cards featuring Pulletz's captivating images will be launched in 1,300 Co-op stores, and as a gesture of support for wildlife conservation, the Co-op will donate £10,000 to the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds).

Pulletz's passion for wildlife photography began five years ago when he started capturing images of animals in the countryside near Charlton Mackrell, Somerset.

It was during this time that he discovered his affinity for the natural world and began capturing breathtaking images of sunrises and sunsets using his iPad.

As he explored his local village, he would carefully select subjects and patiently wait for the perfect lighting to enhance their beauty. It was after capturing an image of rapeseed in the golden glow that he became captivated by the art of photography.

In 2021, Pulletz's talent was recognized when he won the Siena International Award in the Under 20 Category for his exceptional photography.

His work has also been featured in the prestigious British Wildlife Photography Awards book, further solidifying his status as a promising young photographer in the field of wildlife photography.

Your Initial Paycheck Should Be Dedicated To Your Father, Not Pastor, Say's Kanayo

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo recently celebrated his son Clinton Mbaise's entry into the filmmaking industry. In accordance with African customs, Kanayo chose to honor this milestone by accepting his son's initial earnings from his work on set and bestowing his fatherly blessings upon him.

Previously, Kanayo had introduced Clinton to the members of Simpliciter Associates Productions, his production company, while on a movie set. He announced that Clinton would be working as an assistant production manager and personal assistant to him.

In a video shared on Kanayo's Instagram account on Thursday, he requested his son's first salary as a Nollywood production manager assistant. He also advised people to seek blessings from their fathers with their first salary, rather than from their pastors.

However, Kanayo mentioned that the amount of money a parent may take from their child's salary varies depending on the individual. He emphasized that only a father has the authority to bless his child.

Kanayo stated, "I want to uphold a cultural tradition passed down from our ancestors, which has contributed to the success of many individuals today: 'Father's blessing.'

"Clinton, my son, has just completed his work as a production manager with us, and he has earned his first salary of N50,000 for a movie.

"Clinton, from your N50,000, give me N500.

"When a young man receives his first salary, he goes to his father and says, 'Father, my salary is N50,000.' The father may choose to take the entire amount or any portion of it, and then bless his son.

"The reason for the father asking to know the salary is to teach his son financial management.

Kanayo emphasizes that your initial paycheck is intended for your father, not the pastor.

"Those who go to pastors to give their salary are wasting their time, as it is not part of our culture."

Hulk Hogan - I Received Voce Note From A Dead WWE Legend Two Days After Passing Away

Hulk Hogan surprisingly asserts that he was sent a voice message from the late WWE icon, Roddy Piper, just two days after his demise, while the renowned Hall of Famer discusses his spiritual journey of 'surrendering to Jesus' at the age of 70.

Veteran Hogan, a key figure in WWE's history, recently made a surprising statement regarding his legendary rival, Piper. Hogan claimed that he received a voice message from Piper after his passing in 2015.

Accord to DailMail, during an interview on The 700 Club, Hogan shared, "I received a text message two days after he passed away. It said, 'I'm just loving you, my brother. Just walkin' with Jesus. Walkin' with Jesus and loving you, my brother'."

Hogan expressed his shock at the message, stating, "He would have never said that when he was here." Reflecting on Piper's death, Hogan admitted, "I felt like I got shot in the chest with a cannon. It knocked me off track for a couple of days."

The voice message left Hogan feeling unsettled, as he questioned whether his phone was malfunctioning. The experience of receiving a message from someone who had already passed away deeply affected him.

In an episode of WWE Legends, Hogan expressed his deep sorrow over Piper's death, comparing the impact to being struck by a cannon in the chest.

The news had such a profound effect on him that he felt disoriented for a couple of days. Hogan found it particularly eerie to receive a voice message from Piper after his passing, questioning whether it was a glitch in his phone or something more supernatural.

At WrestleMania 30, Hogan, along with Paul Orndorff and Mr. T, put their past rivalry to rest and participated in a match together, marking the inaugural WrestleMania event. Although Hogan's in-ring career has come to an end, he occasionally makes appearances in WWE, which has divided fans' opinions about the 70-year-old legend.

In recent years, Hogan has also embraced religion and openly discussed his spiritual journey, emphasizing his surrender to Jesus rather than his former wrestling persona. Last December, he and his wife Sky were baptized at a church in Florida, further solidifying his commitment to his faith.

One of Hogan's most memorable fights took place at WrestleMania 6 against the Ultimate Warrior. Despite losing to the young Warrior, their match is widely regarded as one of the greatest in WWE history. Dubbed "The Ultimate Challenge," the event drew a record-breaking attendance of 67,678 at the Skydome, solidifying its place in wrestling lore.

Injured Orangutan Observed Utilizing Plants To Heal Sustained Injury

Scientists have made an extraordinary discovery in Indonesia, where a wounded Sumatran orangutan was observed using a plant-based paste to heal a significant wound on its cheek.

According to BBC, this groundbreaking observation marks the first time that a wild animal has been documented self-medicating with a medicinal plant.

Astonishingly, after applying the plant poultice, the orangutan's wound closed up and fully healed within a month.

This behavior is believed to stem from a shared common ancestor between humans and great apes, highlighting the striking similarities we have with our closest relatives, as stated by scientist.

Dr. Isabella Laumer, a biologist at the Max Planck Institute in Germany and the lead author of the research, emphasizes the significance of this finding in further establishing our kinship with these remarkable creatures, as reported by the BBC.

The research team, situated in Indonesia's Gunung Leuser National Park, initially noticed the injured orangutan named Rakus in June 2022, with a conspicuous wound on its cheek.

Based on the orangutan's vocalizations, known as "long calls," the team suspects that Rakus sustained the injury during a confrontation with rival male orangutans.

Subsequently, they observed Rakus chewing the stem and leaves of a plant called Akar Kuning, which possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties and is locally used to treat conditions such as malaria and diabetes.

Scientists observed Rakus chewing a medicinal leaf and transforming it into a paste. He diligently applied the liquid onto his cheek for a duration of seven minutes.

Subsequently, Rakus proceeded to smear the chewed leaves onto his wound, ensuring complete coverage. Engaging in this ritual, he continued to consume the plant for a period exceeding 30 minutes.

Remarkably, the paste and leaves seemed to possess extraordinary properties. The researchers were astounded to witness the absence of any infection, as the wound miraculously closed within a mere five days.

Following the passage of a month, Rakus's cheek exhibited complete healing, leaving no trace of the previous injury.

Based on their observations, the scientists reached the conclusion that Rakus possessed knowledge of the medicinal properties of the plant.

This deduction was supported by the fact that orangutans rarely consume this specific plant and the extensive duration of Rakus's treatment.

This account also reminded me of our dog, Rex, back in 2005. Whenever Rex fell ill, he would refuse to eat and display a melancholic demeanor. However, after some time, he would venture towards nearby bushes and commence feeding on a particular plant.

Within a few days, Rex would rebound and fully recover from his ailment. While scientists may have formulated their own theories regarding this animal's behavior, perhaps it is time for us to perceive these creatures in a different light, rather than merely viewing them as ordinary animals.

United Nations - Taliban Relaxes Efforts To Enforce Strict Dress Code On Afghan Women

A recent report from the United Nations has indicated that the Taliban government in Afghanistan has shown a decrease in their efforts to enforce a strict dress code or hijab on women.

However, the UNAMA's quarterly report highlights that there are still widespread human rights violations occurring under the Taliban regime.

According to VOA, the Taliban has implemented a requirement for Afghan women to wear the "sharia hijab" in public, which involves covering their faces completely or only revealing their eyes.

The responsibility for enforcing this dress code lies with the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, a department within the Taliban.

Since assuming power in Afghanistan in 2023, the Taliban has been imposing their laws on the citizens, but it appears that there has been a slight reduction in their enforcement of hijabs on Afghan women.

Catholic Reverend Sister Renounces Her Religious Devotion, Marries A Police Officer

Photos have surfaced online allegedly depicting a Catholic Reverend Sister who has chosen to leave her religious vocation and enter into marriage with a police officer.

The images showcase the woman alongside her partner in pre-wedding photographs, as well as in her traditional habit during her time as a devoted Reverend Sister bound by the oath of chastity.

According to reports, this particular Catholic sister decided to abandon her religious commitment and tie the knot with a member of the police force.

Additionally, in 2023, a Reverend Father also made the decision to leave his priesthood and marry his wife. Not only did he forsake his Catholic faith, but he also embraced a Pentecostal church.

While instances of individuals renouncing their faith are not common among the Catholic priesthood and religious communities, statistics suggest that out of every 100 ordained individuals, approximately 2 may choose to abandon their religious calling.

This raises the question of whether these cases stem from a lack of understanding of one's true calling or a realization of self after taking vows within the church.
